Charter Certification

Charter customers are required to have NauticEd or ASA certification to skipper a boat. If you do not have certification but possess equivalent skills or commensurate training from another school, you are required to "challenge" either NauticEd or ASA certifications. NauticEd Skipper and ASA Basic Keelboat and sailors may take boats 20' - 23' in length. Sailors who have achieved higher certifications may charter larger vessels.

A NauticEd challenge can be completed by successfully passing the online Skipper Rank class and test, as well as filling out your sailing experience in the online sailing resume. A brief practical examination by a qualified NauticEd instructor is required is to complete the certification challenge process.
